How Utilities Work at Babcock Ranch
Utility setup at Babcock Ranch is fairly straightforward, but there are a couple of details worth knowing before you start making calls.
Florida Power & Light (FPL) handles electric service, while Babcock Ranch Water Utilities, operated by Town & Country Utility, handles water utility service. Internet service is through Quantum Fiber, with up to 1 Gig included with Babcock Ranch amenities.
The biggest difference is solid waste service: the provider depends on whether your home is in the Charlotte County or Lee County portion of Babcock Ranch. Natural gas service is through TECO Peoples Gas where applicable to the property.

The Babcock Ranch Community Independent Special District provides residential waste and recycling service in the Charlotte County portion of Babcock Ranch through Ecologic Waste Management.
Waste Pro
Homes in the Lee County portion of Babcock Ranch use Lee County solid-waste service through Waste Pro rather than the Charlotte County Ecologic system.
TECO – Peoples Gas
Peoples Gas provides natural gas service at Babcock Ranch. Check the specific property if you are unsure whether the home is connected to natural gas.
Quantum Fiber
Quantum Fiber is the community internet provider. Babcock Ranch currently states that up to 1 Gig service is included with amenities.
Quantum Fiber is now part of the AT&T family. Babcock Ranch currently directs residents to the same Fiber Customer Success Team.Why Are There Two Trash Companies?
Babcock Ranch crosses the Charlotte County and Lee County line, so the correct waste provider depends on the location of the home.
Most Babcock Ranch neighborhoods are on the Charlotte County side and use Ecologic Waste Management. Homes in the Lee County portion use Waste Pro / Lee County Solid Waste. If you are unsure which applies to a particular address, confirm the county before setting up service.
Moving tip: Have the full property address and your intended service-start date available when contacting the utility companies. For a resale purchase, it is also worth confirming with the seller which services are currently active and whether the home actually uses natural gas.
